Children acquire a variety of knowledge through painting activities. Painting in early education and care is part of its natural landscape. We can see the easel filled with an array of vivid colours just waiting to be explored.  Most educators discover is that painting becomes much more than just a simple activity. Painting is a way for children to do many important things: convey ideas, express emotion, use their senses, explore colour, explore process and outcomes, and create aesthetically pleasing works and experiences. The Geckos of PP1 expressed their ideas and developed their fine motor skill through vegetable printing activity. They dipped the vegetables like potato, capsicum, lady’s finger in water colour and printed those on number one written on a chart paper, at the same time they made faces representing them through vegetable printing. Kids also discussed the importance of eating green vegetables for healthy sense organs and happy life. This activity made the Geckos creative and taught them to appreciate the nature for providing us so many valuable things.
