The IBDP 2 students put up an enthralling production of Shakespeare’s Macbeth on Saturday 8th July, as an extension of their English Curriculum.

Supported by Theatre Faculty Dr.Nagaraju Pejjai and the Performing Arts team, the students in a brief period of practice amazed the audience with their knowledge of the Shakespearean text, the nuances of feudal social behaviors, witchcraft, and its equivocal fallout and the death of unbridled ambition in the lives of the protagonists.

The theatre atmosphere was enhanced by apt props (daggers and swords, shields, and crowns), traditional Scottish music, and the mysterious play of lights (the reds and blues mainly), and left the audience wanting more. Backstage production and management too were entirely managed by the students.

At the Gaudium, we encourage Holistic Excellence as one of the fundamental pillars supporting our philosophy of the Happy Minds Model, and events such as home productions of classic plays is one such opportunity for our students to express their innate talents and enhance their stage presence and public speaking skills.
