We at The Gaudium School, are proud to host Job Alike session for IB PYP HYDERABAD NETWORK, in the academic year 2018-2019 on Saturday 16-02-2019. The Job Alike Session for Additional Languages was pioneered by our school at our premises of Kollur campus.
The day-long event, which was segmented into various breakout sessions, witnessed six IB schools from the Hyderabad region.
The objective of this session was to share the teaching and learning experiences of language facilitators and the innovative teaching ideas implemented in the classroom. In addition to this the challenges faced and the strategies followed to facilitiate the students in their learning was also discussed.
The session started with an ice breaking activity to know each other and then discussed on IB vision and mission statement, language policy followed by presentation on ‘Effects of mother tongue on students’ performance’; ‘Best Practice in unit planning through inquiry’; ‘Phase level in additional language’. All these discussions went on through out the session.
All the participant schools presented their teaching and learning strategies/ideas wth the other participants which was very informative and got to know how the inquiry is led in their schools and the kind of assessment done to enhance the language skills was also discussed.
On the whole the session was very interactive and gave a scope to knowledge sharing.
