Field trips give students educational experiences away from their regular school environment. Not only do field trips provide alternative educational opportunities for children, they can also benefit the community if they include some type of community service.Students visiting different educational facilities learn in a more hands-on and interactive manner than they do in school. nature centers and botanical gardens show kids animal and plant life up close, and often have areas where kids can touch displays. Our PP1 Geckos were taken on a field trip to our Kollur campus, known as the ‘Magic’ campus on March 8, 2017 (Wednesday) as part of the inquiry on features of plants and caring for plants. As our ‘Magic’ campus has an abundance of tree-lined and shaded boulevards and other greenery, including cultivated plants, the learners got an hands on experience and clearly understood that though the plants have similar parts but they are different in terms of shape, size and feature. The Geckos were introduced to the terms, herbs, shrubs, climbers, creepers as they witnessed all these plants in the campus. Further they illustrated different types of plants they observed and also discussed the similarities and difference among those.
