In connection to their inquiry on “Explorations”, on the theme ‘Where we are in place and time’ Grade 5 geckos had an interactive session on 21st Feb, 2017 to enhance their learning about the reasons of exploration, Different types of exploration and the impact of exploration. The geckos have exhibited their communication skills as they interacted with Mr. Deepak Roy, Scientist from Eurobond Pharmacy and asked many questions related to geographical explorations and space explorations. Furthermore the geckos had a chance to know more about Space explorations and the tools of navigation that explorers used to go to different places and to measure distances. They compared the tools from the past and present and reflected that advances in technology have made our life easy. The geckos also had a chance to discuss and know more about the Space exploration. They understood that the space exploration is the ongoing discovery and search of heavenly structures in outward space by means of continuously growing and developing space technology. They inquired about Global Positioning System and could comprehend that it is a radio navigation system is a radio navigation system that allows land, sea, and airborne users to determine their exact location, velocity, and time 24 hours a day, in all weather conditions, anywhere in the world. Certainly it was a good learning experience for all the geckos!!
