In going further on the inquiry into its natural world about CLASSIFICATION the Grade-5 , on 11th November,2016 had a guest lecture by Mrs. Archana Reddy and was introduced to the levels of classification, as Kingdom, phylum, class, order, family, genus and species. They also learnt about Taxonomy as the science of naming living organisms. The geckos have learned about Bi-nominal nomenclature which means that every living organism has two names. They learnt that there is a system to classify all the living organisms and are given a scientific name. The geckos had more exposure about the naming system and dichotomous keys. They enjoyed the interactive session with the guest and had a great learning experience in knowing more about classification.
