Cambridge International curriculum is an International trademark set for global standards of education, worldwide. It is offered in more than 10,000 schools across 160 countries and is recognised by universities and employers across the world. A structured curriculum characterised by academic rigour helps learners enhance their skills and knowledge as they progress from one grade level to another.
The two stages of the Cambridge Pathway, lead the students seamlessly from Lower Secondary (grades 6 to 8) through Upper secondary- IGCSE (grades 9 & 10). The curriculum allows the requisite flexibility to meet the learners’ personal and cultural needs. Cambridge philosophy of unlocking the child’s potential to make him/her a passionate lifelong learner blends with the school’s vision of creating a joyful learning environment. Lower Secondary
Grades 6-8 are the crucial developmental years of students where they learn to be more independent, accountable and open minded to others’ views and thoughts.
The curriculum is based on the objectives and requirements of the Cambridge assessments, with an emphasis on core subjects:
- English as First Language (Paper 1 – Fiction and Paper 2 Non-Fiction)
- Mathematics (Paper 1 & Paper 2)
- Science (Paper 1 & Paper 2)
Thereby equipping them with a strong foundation for higher classes. The activities designed fosters the communication, critical thinking, collaboration and creativity skills. Along with the core subjects the curriculum at The Gaudium includes:
- Second and Foreign languages, (Hindi, Spanish or French)
- Global Perspectives
- Information and Communication Technology
- STEM & Robotics
- Lifeskills
- Visual and Performing Arts
- Physical Education
At the end of Grade 8 students appear for an external examination regulated by Cambridge referred to as the ‘Lower Secondary Checkpoint Examination’. The core subject viz English, Mathematics, Science are assessed and a diagnostic and individualised feedback is provided to the students. Additionally the students appear for school level assessments for all the subjects offered at The Gaudium.

- Term 2: Unit Test 2 and Term 2 Exam
Upper Secondary Level (IGCSE)
International General Certificate of Secondary Education (IGCSE) is an internationally renowned, comprehensive, stimulating and a flexible curriculum for age groups 14-16 years. Students have the liberty to choose their subjects of interest from the vast range of subjects offered by Cambridge under five subject groups. This wide range of subjects offered at The Gaudium are carefully thought of considering the career prospects in demand.
The five subject groups are:
- Group I: Languages: English as First language; Hindi, French and Spanish as Second/Foreign languages
- Group II: Humanities: Economics/ Global perspectives/ History
- Group III- Sciences: Physics/ Chemistry/ Biology/ Coordinate Science/Combined Science
- Group IV: Mathematics: Extended Math/Additional math
- Group V:Creative, Technical and Vocational Courses: Business studies/ Computer Science/ Art & Design/Accounting
Our flexible, linear assessment structure maximizes teaching and learning time, encouraging a strong grasp of the subject being studied. At The Gaudium, continuous assessments in the form of formatives, diagnostics, unit tests and Term Exams aims at gauging the students’ achievements.
Term end Assessments
- Term 1 : Unit test 1 and Term 1 Exam
- Term 2: Unit Test 2 and Term 2 Exam (For grade 9)
- Term 2: Two Pre Boards (For Grade 10)
At the end of Grade 10 students appear for an external examination regulated by Cambridge referred to as IGCSE (International General Certificate of Secondary Education) board examination in all their chosen subjects.
ICE Award
At The Gaudium we register all the IGCSE Grade 10 students for the Cambridge ICE Award. This group award from Cambridge appreciates students who demonstrate competency across a wide range of subjects and skills by mingling a combination of 1 or more subjects from each of the 5 Groups. It is a unique award providing an edge to the students during University admissions. The qualification is globally recognized and opens many doors for students who want to study locally or abroad.
Cambridge faculty at The Gaudium
The committed and competent Cambridge faculty members are trained and certified by Cambridge in their respective subjects. All Cambridge teachers have access to specialised tools and websites to enhance existing skills and develop new approaches. The faculty members update themselves with the changing trend in education by attending the webinars, workshops and trainings conducted by Cambridge.
