As the central idea of “POI” topic being “FOOD WE EAT” , we had performed an assembly presentation on food we get from plants and animals. Food is any substance consumed to provide nutritional support for the body.It is usually of plant or animal origin, and contains essential nutrients such as fats, protieins, vitamins or minerals. The substance is ingested by an organism and assimilated by the organism’s cells to provide energy, maintain life, or stimulate growth.
Animals are used as food either directly or indirectly by the products they produce. Meat is an example of a direct product taken from an animal, which comes from muscle systems or form organs. Food products produced by animals include milk and processed into dairy products like cheese, butter etc.,In addition birds and other animals lays eggs, which are eaten often and even bees produce honey.Plants provide major food providers such as fruits vegetables and seeds.
STUDENT ACTION: The children were able to apprehend their learning through the assembly presentation on the topic “FOOD WE EAT”. They displayed the attitude of coordination and cooperation and have made this event a successful one. The geckos have demonstrated their learning by rhymes and also each gecko have spoken on different sources of food.
LEARNING OUTCOME:This assembly presentation on “FOOD WE EAT” gave our geckos good exposure on eatables. The geckos got acquainted with stage performance and also obtained ample information on food products and their nutrients. The geckos displayed a team work and confidently spoke on their “LINES OF INQUIRY”.
